The first fluffly snowflakes of the winter season . . . . .
Well, I was reminded of a couple of mine this last week.
We have a pond with a fountain in front of my office building. My office overlooks this pond and the landscaping around it is just beautiful. People walk from neighboring businesses at lunch time to sit on the benches or at the tables to have their lunch. Residents down the street come in the evenings and on the weekends with their children and or pets to play around the pond. It really is quite a beautiful setting.
One of the cool things we have are several families of geese and ducks that visit us each year. The geese have been around for so long now that they recognize some of us and are no longer afraid when we go sit to watch them and their new babies each spring. I have a special way of calling to them which they recognize and will actually "talk" with me. My workmates get a big kick out of it!
Anyway, one of my favorite things is watching the geese and ducks feed off the bottom of the pond. I just think it is so adorable to see them flip their butts up in the air and just hang there. I know, weird - but it just makes me giggle!
One of my other favorite things to see is a cat washing its face. There is just something soothing about seeing them close their eyes and rub their face with their front paw. Again, call me weird, but I love it.
